THE POSITION

Are experienced with highway construction projects? Do you want to be a part of this dynamic team, and play a crucial role in assisting with the safety and quality of transportation construction projects? If this sounds like you, the Department of Transportation, Technical assistant position, is the perfect opportunity for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Within the District Construction Unit, you will be responsible for performing entry level tasks. This includes assisting Transportation Construction Inspectors and Supervisors in reviewing Construction Documentation and ensuring its accuracy and compliance with Department policies. Additionally, you will help in managing the district's field construction project records and documentation using various PennDOT construction applications on PennDOT issued iPad. You will also assist in conducting technical reviews of material costs for highway and bridge construction projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
Vendor-controlled position. Work hours may vary to meet operational needs.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, as-hoc. at the discretion of the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Graduation from high school; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
