Air Products has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst for our HyCO Americas Business Decision Support team working onsite, with some flexibility, at our Global HQ in Allentown, PA or Houston, TX.
Duties & Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
The California Financial Analyst is a critical position in Air Products’ Financial Planning and Analysis (Business Decision Support or “BDS”) organization, providing essential analysis and decision support to the California HyCO Franchise. The position is aligned with the California HyCO business and asset managers but will work closely with the account management and plant operations teams. The business supplies hydrogen to major refiners and chemical process manufacturers such as Valero, Marathon, and PBF via onsite/pipeline systems.
The California Business Analyst will directly support the management team, be an active participant in driving to closure strategic initiatives, productivity actions and projects as well as provide oversight to ensure all standards are adhered to and the proper financial controls are in place.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills, proficiency in operational and cash flow project analysis, and comfort navigating Air Products’ financial systems and tools.
This position will provide and require interactions and communication with all levels of the business and candidates should have the ability to develop and leverage relationships outside of the Business Decision Support (BDS) organization.
Principle Accountabilities:
Provide Financial Planning and Analysis, and investment decision support
Partner with the business and operations teams to support business strategy development, profitability improvement efforts, customer profitability measures, planning efforts, and best practice sharing
Provide analytical support and business advice to enable better decision-making
Develop analyses and provide guidance for assessments of new business opportunities as well as on customer negotiations related to existing contracts
Perform operational analysis of the asset portfolio including understanding results, identifying major factors, and translating the data into important and concise information.
Coordinate and support the development of the annual operating plan and strategic plans
Improve reporting by providing meaningful financial metrics and timely delivery of information to the business team
Requirements / Qualifications:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar
3-5 years finance experience
Knowledge of SAP is necessary for success, with functional knowledge and the ability to extract data from SAP R3, BW Analysis, and BPC
Experience with data visualization tools is a plus
Effective interpersonal, leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
