General Job Category Description:

The Receiving Associate assists in unloading delivery trucks and compares received products to packing lists and purchase orders to ensure that deliveries are complete and accurate. The Receiving Associate will be responsible for tracking deliveries and troubleshooting order issues with the Purchasing Department, Accounts Payable Department, and Sales Team. The successful candidate will also facilitate the return of damaged products to vendors.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately receive all products
  • Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt included but not limited to Purchase Order, Packing Slip and BOL’s.
  • Inspect all the contents for damages and volume.
  • Manage and return incorrect shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control.
  • Communicate with the Purchasing Department, Sales, Operations Management, and Accounts Payable when a mistake is identified.
  • Communicate with the Sales team regarding key customers, receipt of next day items, damaged orders, or other related issues.
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
  • Assist Operations Manager or Warehouse Lead in performing tasks; sort and place merchandise in proper stock areas.
  • Maintain the receiving area and general warehouse in neat and orderly conditions; make sure that all equipment is kept in safe and efficient locations.
  • Assist in loading and unloading merchandise on delivery trucks.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures in reporting accidents in accordance with company policy.
  • Keep managers/supervisors informed of shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and inventory control.
  • Assume responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work locations. Exercise and promote safe behaviors and demonstrate unyielding support of programs, rules, and policies regarding safety.
  • Follow proper procedures in reporting safety incidents in accordance with company policy.
  • Always remain courteous and service-minded while dealing with other team members and customers.
  • Maintain a neat appearance in accordance with company dress code policy.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Participate in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential or proprietary information including, without limitation, operations methods, customer information, and sales data.
  • Complete projects and assignments on time.
  • Attend department meetings and training as requested.
  • Complete other related duties assigned by supervisor and/or department management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs in order to load/unload packages.
  • Must be a dependable worker with the ability to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills.
  • Must be able to operate RF Scanner.
  • Math and recording abilities.
  • Be dependable and report to work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to create a positive and productive working relationship with employees and customers.
  • Work independently using effective problem-solving skills.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), upon certification including but not limited to; forklift, reach truck, order picker, pallet jack and others as provided.
  • Superior organizational and multitasking ability.
  • Commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Professionalism with respect to time management and meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous standing, lifting, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
