Job Description

Come join this top, national law firm who is rising up in the AmLaw ranks year after year as a Venture Capital and Startup Group Business Development Manager. This is one of their largest and fastest growing practice areas and one that they are renowned for! Hybrid opportunity with additional flexibility. MUST have exposure to VC and/or emerging companies and law firm business development experience.

The VC and Emerging Company Business Development Manager will work closely with the practice group leaders to develop and implement marketing and business development activities and work collaboratively with firm-wide marketing resources. Research and evaluate referral sources, sponsorship opportunities, and speaking engagements to help raise the profile of the VC Group. Prepare directory submissions for Chambers, Legal 500, etc. Support and use the firm's CRM to track business development and client activities.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Spearhead the development of, as well as implement and track, the business plans for the assigned practice groups.
  • Develop and manage Practice Group and Team budgets.
  • Strategize with the Groups and Teams to identify appropriate marketing activities and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain collateral materials, including brochures, deal or case lists, practice descriptions and other web site content.
  • Assess opportunities and assist in developing responses to RFP's and pitches for new business.
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell assigned practice group services across the firm.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant marketing/business development experience in professional services. Legal experience preferred. Venture Capital, startup company, and/or emerging company experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to partner with senior level management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $220,000.00 per year
