We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our national Real Estate Development team. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our Accelerated Growth strategy, managing land acquisition and high-value land divestment, and securing municipal approvals for new developments and redevelopments.
Minimum Requirements:
  • University Degree in Business, Economics or Law or related experience
  • 15 years of related industry progressive work experience
  • Experience managing large multi-year capital programs
  • Strong leadership experience with proven team developmental skills and role model qualities
  • A creative thinker with proven success in complex business ventures and relations

Responsibilities:
  • Lead overall direction and success of the national Real Estate Development team
  • Shape and execute Petro-Canada’s Accelerated Growth Plan, including managing growth capital plans
  • Develop 50+ High Grade projects, 130 Quick Serve Restaurant additions and 50+ New to Network Developments
  • Maximize value creation via re-zoning of properties to highest and best use, maximizing potential sales opportunities
  • Manage land acquisition and municipal approvals for new and redevelopment projects
  • Support Senior Management with counsel and strategic insights
  • Drive clarity and focus in a dynamic environment for direct reports, peers and senior leadership

Location and other Key details:
  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Regular travel (40%) is required
