SUMMARY:

The Commercial Lender is responsible for new business development, portfolio management, and underwriting to support the group's needs. This role is a great opportunity for a seasoned commercial real estate sales professional who is assertive, has strong initiative, and has proven success in working independently. Successful incumbents are customer focused, have strong credit underwriting skills and decision quality, are creative thinkers, negotiate well, take command of the situation, build strong peer relationships, and have experience managing large loan portfolios.


JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Increasing the Bank's profitability by cultivating and increasing new business relationships.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships, new business, and periodic review of existing loan arrangements.
  • Negotiate proper loan structures, promoting the Bank's credit and non-credit products.
  • Stay abreast of corporate banking knowledge, credit and non-credit products, trust, real estate, treasury management, and other bank functions.
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting and financial principles, marketing and sales principles, credit analysis, economics, and other bank functions.
  • Regular and timely physical attendance during assigned work hours.
  • Work effectively as a member of the TexasBank Team
  • Ensure confidentiality of personnel records and all other discretionary information
  • Other duties as assigned.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Air-conditioned office environment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • Walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach
  • Extended keyboarding

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five+ years of proven commercial real estate lending experience.
  • Strong marketing and business development experience with a proven track record of originating term loans on commercial multi-family real estate properties
  • Commercial real estate market knowledge is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people.
  • Strong commitment and track record to providing high quality service levels to both external and internal customers
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technological systems and business processes


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • A four-year college degree.
  • Formal Credit Training.
