The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Process Production Lead to join our Production Engineering team in Long Harbour, NL.
This is a 12 month fixed term position, working a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.
As a Process Production Lead, you will monitor the plant’s performance, while working collaboratively site wide to help coordinate plant operation to ensure each shift sustains and builds production capability to achieve targets. Assisting with a wide variety of tasks relating to both technical and operational support for the Long Harbour Processing Plant, the Production Lead will study aspects of operational efficiency, quality and develop strategies for mitigating risk.
In this position, you will:
- Monitor plant system production performance and integrity; connect with the various groups to ensure processes are in place to sustain and build production capability, and meet targets outlined in the production plans;
- Coordinate plant operations and process to meet production goals and allow for maintenance of equipment;
- Attend daily production meetings, report on current plant operation, issue written shift reports and identify constraints;
- Support the development of execution plan strategies and implement operating plans for the area(s) of responsibility, taking into account, targets and related actions to reduce incident frequency rates, environmental performance, production output, quality, costs and capital expenditures;
- Identify any required changes to the established production and/or maintenance schedules, that will impact either upstream or downstream customers;
- Analyze in-control processes, identify common causes of variation and develop action plans to make the vital changes to correct the common causes;
- Aid in the implementation of changes vital to regain/sustain/build production capabilities.
About You
Education:
- Post-secondary education within a related field;
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant process experience required;
- Industrial and/or operating environment an asset;
- Hydrometallurgical knowledge and experience an asset;
- Supervisory experience considered an asset;
Skills:
- Proficient in MS suite;
- Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing roles and environment in a positive and constructive manner while managing multiple priorities;
- Able to build and maintain strong positive relationships across multiple work groups;
- Excellent communication (written and oral), as well as interpersonal skills;
