Job Description:
The Business Development Representative will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities in the fire alarm systems and low voltage sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills who can build and maintain relationships with our staff, clients and vendors alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and Pursue Opportunities:
- Seek and evaluate business opportunities for fire alarm systems and low voltage projects.
- Negotiate or bid on projects to secure new contracts.
- Lead Generation and Qualification:
- Bring in qualified opportunities through networking, research, and outreach.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects.
- Proposal Development:
- Create and present Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals meet client needs and company standards.
- Client and Vendor Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Bid and Design Assistance:
- Assist in the preparation and design of bids.
- Prepare a comprehensive quote based on plans, specifications and client needs.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure the feasibility and competitiveness of proposals.
- Presentation Development
- Develop compelling presentations for bids and proposals.
- Present solutions and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate and conduct hand-off meetings to ensure smooth transition of awarded projects to estimators and project teams.
- Collaborate with construction teams to align on project deliverables and timelines.
- Staff Education and Training:
- Educate staff on industry trends, project opportunities, and development strategies.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge related to business development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in business development, specifically in fire alarm systems and low voltage work.
- Minimum of (5) years experience in local Albuquerque / New Mexico market
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
