Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mineral Land Professional to join our Calgary Office. The successful candidate will develop effective working relationships with diverse groups within the company and work collaboratively with third parties to achieve results. Reporting to the VP Operations, this role is accountable for a full range of responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

· Administer and maintain Crown and freehold mineral leases and work closely with teams and partners on continuations, expiries, compensatory royalties, offset notices, default notices, submissions and terminations of mineral rights.

· Verify, input, and manage data in the CS Explorer land system.

· Respond to internal and external operations, accounting and developmental queries relating to mineral and surface land and joint ventures.

· Review and process monthly mineral rental invoices.

· Ensure land system data integrity and linking is maintained to accurately reflect the company’s interests, including contracts, leases and well records.

· Prepare and manage all land related documentation.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as exploration, operations, accounting, partners and government departments.

· Provide strategic direction and support for land and joint venture initiatives to align with corporate objectives. Prepare and manage the corporate land budget.

· Serve as business development point of contact and maintain networking activities with competitors and partners.

· Project responsibilities include: Crown land sales, asset acquisitions, divestitures and swaps, ROFR notices, farmins, farmouts, infrastructure deals, and other joint ventures.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years experience in the oil and gas industry.

· Previous business development, mineral land, and surface land experience.

· Familiar with typical joint venture and surface and mineral land documents including but not limited to CALEP JOA’s, farm in and farmout agreements, unitization documents, CO&O’s, P&S agreements, pooling agreements, LOI’s, ROFR’s, novation agreements, etc.

· Ability to plan, lead, and manage projects with internal staff and external consultants.

· Bachelor of Commerce with Petroleum Land Management concentration (preferred)

· Strong and extensive knowledge of Alberta and BC Land Regulations. Familiarity with Alberta and BC government systems including DDS, OneStop, Kermit, BCER, Petrinex, etc.

· Member of Canadian Association of Land and Energy Professionals

· Self-motivated, energetic and collaborative.

· Decisive with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

· Proficient user of MS Office, CS Explorer and Accumap.
