Overview of the Role:
As the Regional Sales Development Manager, you will report to the Director of Sales Development, Perishables, managing the business relationship with both clients and customers. This role is critical in establishing, nurturing, and sustaining credible, long-lasting relationships with both clients and retail partners.
In this role, you will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the client’s and retailer’s assortment, go-to-market strategies, policies, and personnel while collaborating with both to develop realistic objectives and strategies for building the business.
- Demonstrate industry, market, customer, and category knowledge by regularly monitoring and analyzing market trends, customer trends, promotional activity, consumer behaviors, demographic shifts, and “best practices”.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans, including promotional planning, that integrate client KPIs and strategies with retailer's KPIs to develop a winning sales strategy for clients, retail partners, and C.A. Ferolie.
- Present to clients and retailers and act as a liaison, providing “best in class” & timely communication and ensuring all agreed-upon promotional plans are submitted and executed.
- Assist with client negotiations & provide solutions to overcome challenges, unique ideas & opportunities desired.
- Provide recommendations around best-in-class marketing plans utilizing retailer marketing capabilities.
What You Should Bring To the Table:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the consumer products industry, specifically food products (manufacturer, broker, supplier, retailer, distributor, etc.)
- Experience calling on Metro NY retailers & distributors is highly desired
- Strong Knowledge of Perishable Departments is preferred (Produce, Deli, Bakery, Seafood, Meat, Dairy, and/ or Frozen)
- Experience in the brokerage industry is a plus but not mandatory
- Passion for the food industry with exceptional relationship-building skills.
- Strong project and time management experience
- Excellent presentation, written, and oral skills, along with negotiation skills. Must effectively interact and communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with problem-solving and strategic thinking skills. Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to think outside the box and develop sales for our client portfolio.
- Experience with reviewing and interpreting syndicated data to make strategic data-driven recommendations and create best-in-class sales presentations
- Strong proficiency with all necessary computer-based programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Team, SAP, and various trade management systems such as Exceedra)
- Access to reliable transportation for regional travel to support retailers in the Metro NY region (NJ, NY, and CT) and the office in Montvale, NJ, as needed.
