JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Lending Sales Representative is responsible for providing effective member service by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as communicating effectively with team members within the branch to proactively convert inbound, outbound, online, and branch referrals into sales opportunities.
Essential Functions

1. Responsible for uncovering member’s financial needs, recommending the best loan products and services, and identify cross selling opportunities.
2. The representative must fully own the application inquiries/intake process, effectively build rapport with consumers on the phone, while conveying confidence and presence on the phone.
3. Gather applicant’s background information, verify completeness of information, and collect required loan documents.
4. Assess credit report, calculate income, schedule closings, disburse and book loans.
5. Review active loan applications each day to determine if any documents are missing or needed to move the application along to underwriting or to closing.
6. Meet sales performance goals for funded loans and loan protection products.
- Provide accurate, courteous, and timely professional service to existing and prospective members.
- Assist consumers by providing information and answering questions about the credit union’s products, services, and requirements/eligibility.
- Process loan applications ensuring proper credit union processes are followed and adhered to.
10. Meet customer service goals for scorecards and external member surveys.
- Partner with other departments as needed to meet and exceed members’ service expectations.
- Compute financial fees, interest, and service charges.
- Comply with BSA and other applicable regulations.
14. Must stay up to date on consumer lending guidelines and maintain an active knowledge base of all 1DCU’s products and services.
15. Perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the department.
BSA Compliance - every team member is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. This job requires compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, the USA PATRIOT Act, and related 1DCU procedures. Related responsibilities include but are not limited to: the Member Identification Program for new members, the maintenance of member identifying information for existing members, identifying potential high-risk accounts at account opening, and the reporting of suspicious activity, including insider abuse, as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours worked are not to exceed 40 hours. This position is Hybrid. Some Saturday hours required.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three years of customer service experience.
3. Proficient in Microsoft 360 (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook).
4. NMLS Certification is required, Credit Union will sponsor if not already obtained
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
1. Associates degree in related field.
2. Previous experience at a financial institution, lending preferred.
3. University of Lending and/or financial counseling education.
4. Experience with Home Equity loans.
