We are a manufacturing company with over 25+ years of experience specializing in kilns, furnaces, ovens, heat treating systems, and control panels. We are looking for a general laborer that can be trained to do insulation, welding and fabrication of metal frames and sheet metal components for ovens and environmental test chambers with electric arc-welding (TIG and MIG) equipment and assists with mechanical assembly and completing electrical work by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Study and interpret assembly instructions.
Work with refractories such as ceramic fiber, bricks, and castable
Able to read mechanical schematics.
Read parts list. Assemble tools and materials. Positions parts and subassemblies. Interpret measurements. Hammer, grind, and chip work pieces. Verify specifications. Assemble components.
Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
Operate fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, and flame cutters.
Report errors in product line. Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished.
Complete quality control and time forms.
Qualifications:
- Two year certificate from an accredited college or technical school along with strong mechanical and electrical experience or education and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Industrial furnaces specializing in gas fired systems and gas train, mechanical systems including doors, motors, pneumatic, and hydraulic a plus
- Reliable, organized, detailed, efficient, and focused
- Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as good verbal and written communication skills are required
- Must have basic math skills
- Forklift certification as required by the facility
- Refractory experience preferred
- Ability to Drive and arrive to site jobs directly when required
- Must have own hand tools
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to distinguish stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum and read blue prints and schematics. Familiarity with basic hand tools such as hand drills, wrenches, sockets screwdrivers. Must be willing work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain production deadlines.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Welding and/or electrical certificate desirable.
Position Specific Physical Requirements:
- May require manual pushing or pulling heavy kin cars and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Required to load/unload kiln, furnaces, ovens, heat treating systems utilizing, overhead crane, hoists, or other required equipment as needed.
- Required to work within confined spaces following proper training and certification as required in performance of job duties
- Required to do site work as based on contracts received.
- Driving & Delivery as needed
- Employee to bring basic hand tools
