Job Description

As a National Sales Manager, you will oversee a sales team of 7 representatives, selling custom lighting, backlit solutions, and lightboxes to custom builders who build retail displays, trade show booths, signage printers, and interior spaces. The territory includes the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, and parts of the United States. You will lead, manage, oversee performance, implement sales strategies and KPIs, and work closely with the sales team to acquire new and maintain existing accounts. This is an expansion role, adding to the sales team and reporting directly to the Vice President. The base salary is between $100,000 - $110,000 plus bonus.

COMPANY & CULTURE:
Our client, based in Markham, Ontario, is the only domestic LED backlighting manufacturer with over 20 years of experience. With a team of 60 employees, they are known for their UL-patented light engines and fixtures. They have two UL-certified manufacturing facilities in North America (Los Angeles, Toronto) and two in Asia (China, Korea). Their client base includes builders, Designers, Architectural Firms, Distributors, Display Printers, Trade Show booths, and Retail Display manufacturers. Their corporate culture is work hard, play hard, fast-paced, and results-driven. Some of their clients’ projects include Estee Lauder, L’Oréal, Winners, TD Bank, and Scotiabank, among others.

Head Office: Markham, ON

Sales Territory: National wide

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
3 -10 years of B2B sales leadership experience

Ability to travel to the United States

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

Although Industry Experience is not a requirement, preference will be given to those with the following experiences:

Experience selling custom-manufactured products/solutions

Experience selling custom millwork products/solutions

Experience selling electrical and or lighting products

Experience selling signage or retail display an asset

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, related field, or relevant experience

Bilingual French

SALES CYCLE / PRODUCT VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:
Average order size: $5,000

Targeted Account Volume: $25,000-$50,000

Sales Cycle: 1 to 6 months

TYPICAL DAYS AND DUTIES:
Lead and Grow the Direct Sales Team in both quality and quantity, by recruiting, hiring, coaching and training.

Manage direct sales by developing a sales forecast based on a business plan by segments, including dashboards and reports detailing revenue and expense controls.

Set overall and individual sales goals, assign territories for team members, evaluate performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed.

Sales Pipeline Management: Ensure the effective use of CRM tools to track and manage team activities, monitor the sales pipeline, and drive accountability.

Oversee CRM data accuracy and use insights to guide team performance, optimize sales strategies, and improve forecast accuracy.

Conduct territory reviews for each territory sales representative and establish individual targets and budgets

Travel all territories with the sales team.

Developing best practices and procedures to ensure we are executing the territory plans.

Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them.

Promote the organization and products.

Understand our ideal customers and how they relate to our products.

Strengthen relationships with National Accounts and Key territory accounts

Manage referrals and program registration methods.

Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment
