POSITION SUMMARY
Solicit group business that enables the hotel to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, conference and food & beverage. This position was designated for a seasoned sales professional who desires to be the best in their field and continue to show exceptionally strong sales performance by consistently being the leader in revenue production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As Sales Manager you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards of Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa.
The Sales Manager performs his/her duties within the framework defined by hotel norms and by internal regulations as specified by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- To market / sell in assigned geographical and market segment territories to maximize revenue.
- Inter hotel Sales – to promote and sell Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa on calls, telephones, mail, contact, client entertainment and site inspection.
- To develop new accounts for the hotel through personal sales calls and client servicing.
- Servicing existing accounts and maintaining a regular call pattern.
- To promote hotels facilities and activities through hotel inspection and entertainment of clients in the hotel.
- Identify sales opportunities and close high value sales.
- Support the planning strategies, tactics and activities for the segments.
- Participate in associate and management, training programs as required by the Meyer Jabara Hotels and Marriott Global Source.
- Submitting weekly plan and daily sales activity including monthly measurement report to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Ensuring proper records are kept on clients in the Property Management System (PMS) and maintain commercial portfolio or account management system.
- Handle routine correspondence, responding within 24 hours
- Make sure Marriott standards and procedures and those resulting from hotel’s Sales and Marketing policy are correctly applied.
- Apply and ensure application of procedures and regulations as per Meyer Jabara Hotels and Marriott procedures.
- Assist in drawing up the marketing plan annually with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Organizes regular visits to clients in accordance to a predetermined plan.
- Prepares a tentative monthly schedule to forecast all sales and other related activities for the following month.
- 3 years experience as Sales Manager in a full-service hotel is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High School diploma or Hospitality degree certificate required.
- Prior experience in full-service hotel in a similar position preferred.
- Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
- Extensive knowledge of sales skills.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess computer skills including but not limited to MS Word, Excel.
- Knowledge of hotel and competitive market.
- Extensive knowledge of sales skills.
