Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key supporter for sales representatives through Tech In Person (TIP) and support customers through Tech At a Distance (TAD)
  • Contribute to Tech On Demand (TOD) content, the most proactive virtual education platform in the industry.
  • Serve a critical role in delivering solutions to customers and providing timely feedback to support the Ball Seed Company’s global supply chain
  • Coordinate communication and report on product performance to the worlds’ top floriculture breeding companies such as Pan American Seed, Ball FloraPlant, Darwin Perennials, Syngenta, Dummen, Takii, and many more.
  • Facilitate technical solutions within Ball and at supplier and customer facilities.
  • Supporting sales representatives, customers, breeders, and customer service by providing technical expertise and cutting-edge solution
  • Collaborate and communicate with all Ball business units in support of our company’s continued growth with facilities throughout the world.
Requirements:


  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred in horticulture or closely related fields, OR B.S. with commensurate floriculture industry experience.
  • Three years of experience in production, education, or customer technical support focused on horticulture or similar areas.
  • Ability to travel (30 to 40%).
  • Must have strong communication skills – written & verbal, including public speaking to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Social media and webinar communications knowledge
  • Has knowledge of environmental control systems and technical bulletin generation
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objective
  • Effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels
  • Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  • Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
  • Preferred to be local or willing to relocate. If remote will need to be located close to a major airport.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hands/fingers 100% of the time
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds 5% of the time
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds 5% of the time
  • Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, balance up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to work in various work environments including greenhouse, field, and desk environments.
