Job Description

Directs the activities for the Route Sales Drivers in a specific region. Handle some customer service and ensure that all customer needs are met by drivers. Account for RD equipment on site with the customer. Handle various responsibilities for the division.

Essential job functions:

  • 40% Direct the activities for the route sales drivers in a specific region. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Manage all personnel issues and needs.
  • 40% Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads. Set appointment and solicits new customers by cold calling. Conduct product tasting. Prepares sales proposals. Verify that prospective accounts will generate sufficient revenue to cover the cost of the route stop. Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers in the computer database.
  • 10% Handle certain customer service needs and ensure that all customer issue related to routes are resolved
  • 10% Accounts for RD equipment on site with the customer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of sales practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of business math.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient skill with personal computer and job-related software including MicroSoft Office products.
  • Ability to drive 16 – 18 ft box truck.
  • Knowledge of diesel truck operations.
  • Ability to solve problems and offer creative solutions.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience Required: High school or GED equivalent plus 5 years job-related route sales experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Coffee/tea service experience preferred.
