Prek-Elementary Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Contract Job in Ontario, CA
- Location: Ontario, CA
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: May 25, 2024 (possibility of Extended School Year (ESY) and New School Year (NSY))
- Hours: Full-Time, 35+ hours per week
- Pay: $32/hour
- Sites: One elementary site and one preK site
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Ontario, CA. The SLPA will work collaboratively with our speech-language pathologists to provide high-quality speech and language services to students in a school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
- Implement individualized therapy plans as outlined by the supervising SLP to address communication goals and objectives.
- Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs within the classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license or certification in the state of California.
- Previous experience working as an SLPA in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and therapy techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position with the possibility of extended employment during the Extended School Year (ESY) and New School Year (NSY) periods.
- The SLPA will work at one elementary site and one preK site within the Ontario, CA school district.
