Title: Business Development Representative
Location: Remote position based in the US, ideally based in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.
Summary:
Drug Hunter is a B2B subscription knowledge base for biotech/pharma R&D scientists that empowers them discover the medicines of the future. We serve most of the top global biotech & pharma companies including Dow 30 and S&P500 companies.
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. The BDR will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base by identifying potential leads, initiating contact, and nurturing relationships. This is an ideal position for an individual with strong communication skills and a desire to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Research and identify prospective clients through various channels, including social media, industry events, and cold outreach.
- Initial Contact and Outreach: Proactively reach out to potential clients via phone calls, emails, and LinkedIn to introduce Drug Hunter's services.
- Qualify Leads: Engage with leads to understand their needs, pain points, and potential alignment with Drug Hunter's offerings.
- Schedule Meetings: Set up and coordinate appointments or demonstrations for the sales team with qualified leads.
- CRM Management: Accurately maintain and update records of client interactions and lead details within the company's CRM system.
- Collaborate with Sales Team: Work closely with Account Executives and Business Development team members to develop strategies for advancing leads through the sales funnel.
- Feedback and Market Insights: Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams on trends and insights gathered from client interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. A scientific degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is not required but can be helpful.
- 1-2 years of experience in a sales or business development role preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.
- Ability to build rapport and develop relationships quickly.
Compensation:
Drug Hunter takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. Benefits include the following:
