Job Title: Network Engineer 1

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer 1 to provide end-user, network, infrastructure, and application support in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This entry-level position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills, creativity, and adaptability to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues effectively. The role involves both remote and on-site support, working closely with production teams and leadership to ensure seamless IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Operations:
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure, including Cisco-managed networks, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and plant radio systems.
- Troubleshoot Layer 1-4 networking issues, utilizing tools such as Wireshark and cable testers.
- End-User Support:
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user devices including PCs, printers, scanners, VOIP phones, tablets, and radios.
- Use remote management tools (e.g., VPN, Bomgar) for software patching, installations, and device troubleshooting.
- Incident and Change Management:
- Act as the primary IT contact during production shifts to address and resolve IT-related requests and incidents.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Production Floor Support:
- Visit manufacturing areas to inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve IT hardware/software issues.
- Support IT-dependent production processes such as label printing.
- Collaboration and Projects:
- Work with business partners, production teams, and plant leadership to address IT needs.
- Assist in site-level implementation of IT projects led by centralized teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in IT support for end-user devices and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure and network protocols (e.g., VLANs, NAT/PAT, VPNs, IPsec, TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts, including Incident Management, Change Management, and IT Asset Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift, climb, and navigate stairs/ladders as required in manufacturing environments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and weekend overtime based on plant schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with end-user devices and peripherals, including maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Excel).
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar tools for asset and incident management.
- Familiarity with remote management tools like RDP, VNC, and Bomgar.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, from production workers to executives.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
