Job Description
The Futures and Derivatives Clearing Product Development team is part of the Global Equities division. Product Development is the business process to actively manage products throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will be part of a post trade business product development team focused on Derivatives Clearing (Futures, OTC, FXPB) products and projects, with a special focus on Cleared Swaps. The role will be responsible for driving business strategy and providing functional direction on a series of complex large-scale initiatives. The candidate will act as the link between our Client facing organization, Product Managers, Operations and Technology partners.
Responsibilities:
- Define, deliver/review business requirements for product development, ensuring that a structured approach to market analysis is adopted, commercial judgement is exercised and requirements are agreed by all key stakeholders
- Drive product development in strategic business areas such as connectivity to new clearinghouses, proprietary technology development initiatives, and driving continuous product improvement
- Collect client feedback on initial concepts in a structured manner and prepare detailed concept definition for all core functional areas, with input from Citi SMEs (technology etc.)
- Work closely with Ops Change Management to ensure that all the non-technical deliverables that make a successful product release are covered
- Work closely with technology to produce detailed product roadmaps outlining the strategic direction & deliverables
- Implement key projects and business initiatives assigned to the group
- Assist with implementing systems or process flows enhancements in order to improve efficiency and client service
- Generate product awareness among users, working closely with Sales organization
- Assess new enhancement requests and prioritize according to criticality, effort and resourcing levels
- Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in OTC Clearing is essential
- Experience in Futures, FX, IRS, and Credit
- Technical understanding of post trade clearing systems, clearing houses and process
- Business analyst / project management experience
- Must be confident and able to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively at all organizational levels
- Must be able to deliver on tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to lead discussions around process improvement and system enhancements
- Must have or be able to obtain required licenses including Series 3
- In-depth understanding of controls, governance, documentation, standard operating procedures, testing, etc.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
