About the job

Roles and responsibilities
- Run full cycle accounts payable by effectively managing vendor accounts, maintaining professional relationships and performing aging analysis on accounts payable, ensuring prompt payment of suppliers.
- Assists with monthly close and provides financial reports to managers and plant personnel. Performs and reviews journal entries. Prepares and updates standard entries and reconciles Balance Sheet accounts.
- Analyzes monthly cost and manufacturing variances for the plant, including material usage variance, purchase price variance, revaluation, inventory, conversion cost absorption and freight.
- Assists plant personnel in understanding variances and determining and implementing corrective actions.
- Performs special projects/analysis as required with emphasis on process improvement.
- Helps in preparation of budgets at the plant level.
- Develops and prepares daily, weekly, month-end, quarterly and annual reports for management.
- Prepares, reviews, and updates departmental and machine rates in SAP and updates standard costs.
- Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
- Analyze production orders variance and work with operations for permanent resolutions.
- Allocate costs between the various divisions and categorize costs into wages, material and overhead
- Assist with external auditor requirements
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA designation in progress or desire to pursue CPA
- 1+ year’s work/academic exposure to cost, tax & general accounting - manufacturing environment
- Commitment and desire to grow career path within the Finance department
- Ability to apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles & cost accounting standards
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products, experience in Excel is a strong asset
- Strong systems aptitude – knowledge of SAP or similar operating system
- Must be able to adapt to changes, work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
- Strong organizational and communicational skills
- Practices Ethics and Integrity
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and multi-task
- Demonstrates a high customer service orientation
- Excellent time and project management skills
