Associate Dentist Job Description
We are hiring a knowledgeable and experienced Associate Dentist for our team. We are a privately owned office, with a good staff who have been together for years.
As a member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing professional dental care for patients, consisting of oral examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of dental issues and diseases. You will perform preventative and diagnostic dental treatments, such as cleaning, teeth whitening, dental filling, cavity and tooth decay treatments, and others.
You will also perform cosmetic dental procedures, such as veneers, crowns, and dentures, and order X-rays and diagnostic tests to help with examination and diagnosis.
Your job will also include developing treatment plans and follow-up care for patients, prescribing antibiotics and pain medications, and educating patients on proper oral care and hygiene.
To be successful as an Associate Dentist, you should have extensive dentistry and oral hygiene knowledge, as well as attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. We use high-quality materials, we have an intraoral scanner, and we average 70 new patients a month.
Compensation is production-based with a first-year daily minimum and you are 1099'd.
The focus here is patient care.
Associate Dentist Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provide quality and professional dental care to patients by completing oral examinations, diagnosing, and treating dental problems
· Examine patients’ teeth and gums to diagnose oral health issues
· Conduct preventative and diagnostic dental treatments, such as cleaning, whitening, extractions, dental filling, cavity, and tooth decay treatments, etc
· Perform cosmetic dental procedures, such as veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, etc
· Order X-rays and diagnostic tests to help with examination and diagnosis
· Develop treatment plans and follow-up care to ensure the proper healing process
· Educate and advise patients on proper oral care techniques and hygiene
· Administer local anesthesia and prescribe antibiotics and pain medications
· Collect patient information and maintain patient records
· Collaborate with other dental professionals to ensure patients receive the best care
· Maintain, clean, and sanitize dental equipment and instruments
· Ensure a neat, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
· Document Clinical Notes
Associate Dentist Requirements:
· Degree in dental medicine or dental surgery
· DEA License
· CS License
· Malpractice Insurance Certificate
· Valid state license to practice dentistry
· Working experience in dental practice 2+ years
· Strong knowledge of dental issues, diseases, and conditions
· The ability to utilize various dental equipment and instruments
· Excellent communication skills
· Great organization and time management
· Attention to detail
· Compassion and understanding
· Dentrix software knowledge preferred
