About the Role
As the Regional Business Development Manager, you will work with a seasoned estimating and operations management team to drive revenue growth through your direct sales efforts. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving the company’s revenue targets in your assigned geographic region.
This is a critical role within Superior Industrial’s organization, and successful candidates will have opportunities for career advancement into sales operations leadership.
- Must have 5+ years of direct experience estimating, staffing, managing, and profitably completing industrial maintenance and/or construction projects of all sizes. Must be fully capable of selling and managing (with support) a project from pre-construction to closeout.
- Must have direct experience selling to the existing industrial client base in the proposed territory. No relocation is expected nor will relocation assistance be provided.
- Must have experience working with the Operations Department and Clients to manage multiple projects and multiple field crews at one time with the “mix” of projects ranging individually from mid-five-figure to seven-figure project values.
- Industrial field experience should come from the power, chemical, petrochemical, heavy manufacturing, water/wastewater, or fuel tank management industries.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with industrial coatings and sandblasting is strongly preferred. Experience in scaffolding, insulation, abatement, pipefitting, or welding is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering, or other related field, preferred
- Comfortable working both “in the field” to solve problems as well as “in the boardroom”. Must be able to secure new business as well as independently negotiate and close contract change orders.
- Demonstrated success in working with teams to handle pre-construction planning, budgeting, scheduling, project controls, and asset utilization.
- A strong customer service mindset with a desire to exceed our client’s expectations regarding the quality of our work and our on-time and on-budget performance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership skills, a comfort level with change, and the ability to lead and manage change both internally and externally.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal, state, and local) and apply them to the workplace. Strong working knowledge of government regulations (i.e., OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.) is a plus.
- Effective decision-making skills and a willingness to use available resources to accomplish goals
- Strong Investigative, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Available for up to 50% travel, as needed, within the assigned project management territory.
