ABOUT THE JOB
The Senior Software Developer is responsible for performing technical and analytical duties relative to design, development, programming of computer applications and software systems over a variety of platforms. This position also develops project time and cost estimates and has a thorough understanding of hardware, software and programming languages used in Helena's information technology environment and leads the activities of the team in planning, design, development and programming.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Develops high-quality software design and architecture solutions.
- Self-directs and provides technical leadership for other team members.
- Identifies, prioritizes and executes tasks in the software development life cycle.
- Acts as a positive role model and champions IT processes, services and initiatives.
- Builds key relationships with other technical teams and contributes to a positive work environment through collaboration with teammates, other technical teams and stakeholders.
- Automates tasks through appropriate tools and programming.
- Responsible for compliance, security and effective delivery of services throughout the company.
- Collaborates with internal teams and vendors to implement, fix, upgrade and improve products.
- Has proven experience in managing third party vendors to ensure successful project completion.
- Documents all projects and efforts and development phases.
- Ensures software is up to date with the latest technologies when offering solutions to our partners.
- Mentors software developers in all aspects of the SDLC.
- Manages and maps out estimates and duration for project plans.
- Coordinates team members to achieve milestones.
- Manage internal teams on project efforts to achieve milestones.
- Leads and guides other developers.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field is required.
- Eight years of programming experience is required.
- Five years as a development or implementation project lead is required.
- Two years of third-party vendor management a plus.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in SOA & WebLogic required.
- Experience in a technical leadership role leading teams preferably in Oracle technologies required.
- Advanced technical and functional knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite and financial/manufacturing/supply chain modules required.
- Takes initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems and processes.
- Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software required.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of Oracle, Microsoft, Java, Mobile and Cloud application development techniques required.
- Experience with agile development methodologies required.
- Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) experience.
- Mobile Application Development experience.
- Expertise in application tools including OA Framework/JDeveloper, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer Suite and Workflow.
- Experience working on integrations/Extensions in Oracle ERP
- Exposure to BPEL/WebLogic or similar Middleware Products.
- Microsoft .Net/C#/SQL Server experience.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB
The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
