Since 1985, Data Security, Inc.® has been the world leader of National Security Agency (NSA) evaluated products for digital data destruction; through innovative design, we hold many patents. We design, manufacture, sell and support our products worldwide, from Lincoln, Nebraska. We are a small, locally owned and operated company, with a global customer base and a global impact on data security.

The Sales Representative is an information security professional, trained in-house to be an expert in the field and provide personal service and education. This position creates exceptional experiences by building and maintaining on-going, productive customer relationships. We work with each customer individually to find the product or service that best meets their needs. This position requires being a productive and supportive member of our team; working together to generate growth and financial prosperity for the company and its employees.

Essential Functions

  • Build and maintain ongoing, productive customer relationships
  • Conduct oral, informative presentations and conversations via telephone and in person to current and prospective customers
  • Consistently and continually deliver superior customer service
  • Provide personal service; works with each customer individually to identify needs and provide solutions. Build friendships.
  • Predominantly inside telephone sales with periodic weeks of travel
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver productive on-site customer visits and trade shows
  • Territory consists of an extensive database of current and potential B2B customers
  • Trained on proven sales sequence
  • Take pride in and follow the established process to meet or exceed sales expectations
  • Meets or exceeds monthly average call and cold call lead requirements to achieve maximum sales in assigned territory
  • Track sales activities in sales database system
  • Prepare written customer quotations and orders
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Industry, Competition and Market Knowledge
  • One-on-one training
  • Work with sales team to continually educate self and others on new products
  • Work with sales team to constantly acquire better selling skills
  • Conduct research to stay abreast of the competition, competitive issues, and current markets
  • Continually maintains, researches, and organizes customer profiles for assigned territory
  • Other duties as assigned by Sales Manager

Competencies

  • Has knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures of an office environment
  • Experience and knowledge in Office 365
  • Familiar with online commerce and search engines
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solving and decision making by consensus building
  • Must be a team player, self-motivated, dependable, and dedicated
  • Ability to multitask with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand. The employee is occasionally required to bend, twist or reach as well as lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision preferred and the ability to adjust focus between multiple tasks.

Salaried Exempt, with commission

Reports To

Sales Manager

Availability

40 hours per week, must be available 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Must be willing to travel/work outside of normal business hours.

Required Education and Experience

Some college education required, with one to two years sales or related experience

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Communication with two or more year’s sales or related experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,700.00 - $117,711.00 per year
