Position Overview:
The Interpretation and Translation Centre at Immigrant Services Calgary offers services in over 85 languages, translating documents and providing interpreters to support newcomers and organizations. All our translators and interpreters are highly qualified with professional accreditation and first-language experience.
The Assistant Account Representative is a proactive, innovative, and resourceful problem solver who excels at identifying new opportunities. In this role, the focus is on collaborating closely with both existing and prospective clients, maintaining regular communication while actively pursuing new sales prospects. Our overarching objective is to boost revenue to unlock the full economic, social, and civic potential of our clients, aligning with our core mission. Additionally, commitment to exceeding client expectations involves diligently addressing their needs and fostering unwavering loyalty.
This is a casual position, offering up to 20 hours of work per week, depending on business needs.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with on-site work required; fully remote work is not an option.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a proactive and self-motivated approach to consistently meet and exceed established goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Account Representative to foster and maintain client relationships, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs.
  • Proactively find potential leads and play a key role in growing sales by successfully closing deals.
  • Promote ITC services among internal and external stakeholders, increasing awareness and uptake.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Remain in regular contact with clients, answer their questions, address complaints, and resolve issues in a timely manner to uphold the agency's reputation.
  • Participate in workshop and webinar events hosted by the department to help raise awareness and promote our services.
  • Assign tasks to freelance personnel as requested by clients and ensure timely completion of assignments in coordination with both clients and freelancers.
  • Respond promptly to emails, calls, and requests through our interpretation platform to enhance client satisfaction. ​
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients and freelancers to ensure the timely provision of required information or materials.
  • Undertake any additional tasks or projects assigned by the ITC Manager or Account Representative, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.
Qualifications:
Education
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant areas.
  • Candidates with a relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role​.
  • Proven track record in sales.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • Advanced level of Excel proficiency is necessary for this role.
  • Experience handling urgent requests from multiple clients.
