The role requires someone who has a professional sales background in flooring or construction, is motivated and is excellent at building and maintaining relationships.


Reporting to the senior leader of the market, this role – Sales Representative – Flooring - is responsible for achieving the assigned sales goals in both dollar volume and profitability, while maintaining a high level of customer relationships.

This is a full-time permanent position, working out of our impeccably designed and furnished office. You’ll mostly work from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with irregular or extended hours as projects demand.


THE DAY TO DAY


The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting sales activities, including, but not limited to scouting and identifying possible floor covering opportunities with existing and new customers. The Sales Representative – Flooring – will also:


  • Demonstrate the ability to either work alone or collaboratively with a supplier to secure the specification of the flooring
  • Monitor the tendering process for the project
  • Obtain drawings, review specifications and get any clarifications required
  • Work collaboratively with all team members
  • Negotiate pricing on all required products as needed and submit pricing and proposals to customer, including all terms and credit requirements
  • Ensure clear and timely entry of all data into CORE, including all quantities, delivery requirements and specification required for Procurement to purchase the material
  • Manage the project, including communication with Project Manager regarding timelines, processing of change orders, monitoring of on-site progress, passing along of any deficiency reviews and processing of invoicing
  • Ensure strong customer relationships and continue to follow up as required on future opportunities


YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING


With a strong background in flooring/construction related sales, you will also have a demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity and sound judgment in conducting business transactions, all while providing a high level of customer satisfaction. A strong understanding of construction industry and Project Management and a commitment to building strong customer relationships is key. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sales and understands the sales cycle. Organizational skills to monitor multiple complex projects simultaneously is essential. Prior installation background would be considered asset. You will also be comfortable with systems and have excellent communication skills.
