Job Summary
We are a group of locally owned radio stations with deep ties within our communities. We are seeking a salesperson who is a relentless hunter who thrives on closing new business and exceeding goals. We want someone who is hungry to make a good living by working smartly every week day. We offer a guaranteed draw plus commissions, after you have covered your draw. The sky's the limit. We will not cap your sales.The benefits plan includes the company paying employees 1/2 BC/BS health plan, vacation time, and holidays. Media sales is not for everyone. You must be able to build rapport with clients. The most successful people in media sales are those who can create ideas for local businesses to help them grow their bottom line. Bottom line, this job is not for you if you can’t motivate yourself. It’s not for you if you can’t handle rejection, listen to guidance from others, make in-person cold calls, create your own prospecting list or collect money that is due from your clients. Our sales team is expected to be out in the field 70% of the time. This job can be rewarding, fun and lucrative if you are willing to put in the work. Responsibilities
A radio sales representative is responsible for developing, closing, and maintaining advertising accounts for the radio stations. Other duties include preparing and doing follow up on media schedules, production, proposals, collections and completing reports for the company
Requirements
-Local marketing or sales experience is a plus, but a strong desire to learn and succeed is a must!
-Strong problem solving and analytical ability are essential.
-A demonstrated record of success in a fast paced, goal-oriented environment.
-Strong skills in planning, communicating, organizing, and developing customer relationships.
-Ability to develop a strategic sales plan.
-Proficient in prospecting high potential accounts and setting up appointments with key decision makers with the ability to secure appointments weekly with qualified prospects.
-Demonstrates effective listening skills and able to deliver compelling advertising presentations
-Ability to present a marketing/sales plan that addresses client objectives and reaches the target audience.
-Effectively able to overcome client objections and articulate the value of recommended solutions.
- Knowledge of how to use Google sheets, docs and slides.
-Some knowledge of local high school and college sports, especially football. Who are the head coaches of Alabama and Auburn basketball and football teams?
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
