Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive the growth of new business in Mexico, with a primary focus on the import/export industry. This position requires an individual with strong business acumen, deep local market knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, market foresight, and a comprehensive understanding of global digital payment solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, develop, and close key merchant accounts in the Mexico region, focusing on import/export merchants.
  • Drive consistent new account acquisition and revenue growth through effective pipeline management, ensuring timely agreement closures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and client needs, while representing the company at trade shows, conferences, sales meetings, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal cross-functional teams to manage expectations and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Build effective relationships with supporting departments, including technical implementation and product teams.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage the sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Negotiate key client terms, ensuring alignment with internal implementation and delivery teams.
  • Partner with the Merchant Service team to facilitate efficient client onboarding while maintaining exceptional client experiences.
  • Travel frequently to Mexico for client engagement, typically for 2-3 weeks at a time every 1-2 months.

Job Requirements:

  • Language Proficiency:
  • Spanish: Required to interact with local clients in Mexico, build strong relationships, and navigate cultural and linguistic nuances effectively.
  • Strong networking skills, particularly with a network of merchants engaged in international trade within the Mexico region, including importers from China.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in finance or technology, with a focus on payments, virtual accounts, or foreign exchange.
  • Proven success in closing complex integrated sales deals valued at $100k or more.
  • Demonstrated ability as a relentless new business hunter with a track record of overachievement.
  • Proficiency in consultative/solution sales, including strategies such as the “Challenger” approach to address critical client business issues.
  • Experience independently managing the full sales process, including identifying opportunities, influencing stakeholders, negotiating terms, and closing deals.
  • Strong ability to develop and sustain long-term global client relationships.

Preferred Skills:

  • Active knowledge of global digital payment solutions.
  • Experience in managing culturally diverse and geographically dispersed client relationships.

Compensation:

The salary for this position will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role's responsibilities.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
