Description: Responsible for identifying faulty gages or equipment and suggesting upgrades when necessary. To be successful as a calibration technician, you should have a good eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and above-average troubleshooting skills. Work quickly and methodically to ensure equipment is safe for operation and calibrated to the industry standards.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Perform inspection and calibrate all in-house gauges and tools used for product acceptance.
- Maintain documentation and evidence of calibration on all tools and gauges.
- Assist manufacturing and inspection with the recall of gauges.
- Coordinate with purchasing on gauges which requires outside calibration.
- Schedule outside suppliers for calibration of in-house tools, gauges, and equipment.
- Review calibration results for tightening or reducing of calibration frequency.
- Responsible for traceability and control of master gauges to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Responsible for managing customer owned gauges, who they are assigned to, and recall when calibration is due.
- Keep work area clean, safe and in orderly fashion on daily basis.
- Comply with all safety procedures, practices, and policies.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in Calibration.
- Extensive experience with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Competency with calibration software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and gage manufacturer manuals.
- Ability to write routine inspection reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with individuals or groups of employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphics.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Be familiar with the following standards: AS9100, ISO 17025, ISO 10012-1, and ANSI Z540-1.
- Must be able to read blueprints and validate part compliance to the drawing requirements.
- Must be able to use Calipers, Micrometers, Gage Blocks, micro balls, thread wires, weight class, super-micrometer, linear check, torque transducer, heigh gage.
- Must meet the vision requirements as it relates to Near Vision and Color Perception.
