Apex Order Pickup Solutions is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our team at our global headquarters in Mason, Ohio.
This opportunity is a critical role and often will be the first impression entry point into the Apex organization. This requires strong technical, analytical, project management, and communications skills. In addition, a confident approach and ability to speak with authority can listen for gathering customer requirements.
Apex Order Pickup Solutions applies innovative, scalable software & hardware to enable safe, secure, frictionless order fulfillment for foodservice, retail, & wholesale distribution companies. We are providing transformative Contactless Pickup solutions to a rapidly expanding global client base.
We don’t just talk about the Internet of Things & Big Data …we live it. Our technology is helping Brands save time & reduce contact with their customers enabling killer customer experiences without killer overhead costs.
What You will be doing:
- Engage, and actively work with other Apex internal stakeholders for pipeline planning, requirements definition, implementation, and development (IDP) creation will be key factors to success.
- Work closely with the Apex Order Pickup Solutions sales and marketing teams.
- Inbound qualification and nurturing of new and existing foodservice order pickup prospect/leads to identify opportunities for our solution or disqualify early.
- Solution introduction and presenting via Teams (including live demos as appropriate)
- Lead sales effort to close for projects assigned by sales leader.
- Ongoing cultivation of prospects—providing additional information, engage in planning discussions, answering customer questions, and providing supplemental information to customers such as case studies and videos.
- Identifying and cultivating multiple points of contact within prospective customer organizations and mapping these within the CRM.
- Generating referral leads and new prospects.
- IDP creation and submission where appropriate.
- Normal Dynamics 365 account maintenance and upkeep.
- Participate in trade events as needed along with other Apex associates.
- Project Management support as needed.
- Other assignments may be required.
- Travel: less than 15% - TBD
What you bring:
- Strong customer service “heart" and the confidence and professionalism to interface with our customer base (restaurant management or franchisees, college & university dining, healthcare dining services, and other channels with foodservice offering.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, backed up by strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to think critically to steer conversations into a benefit driven, solution-based discussion that outlines what the client will gain by working with us.
- Excels equally when making pro-active outreach (phone, email, other) to prospects and fielding inbound inquiries.
- Driven by individual results but not to the detriment of the team.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Expert-level competency in use of CRM systems and data capture for CRM systems.
- Ability to earn the client’s trust and confidence with and without face-to-face contact.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to train and work in a hands-on environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 or more years of sales experience, preferably in foodservice, technology solutions or related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, preferred not required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proven record of accomplishment in meeting or exceeding business development/sales targets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to work full-time.
Work location: This position is based in our Mason, Ohio global headquarters with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week. #LI-HYBRID
