Job Description

The Business Development Representative (BDR) collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and Engineering to generate new sales opportunities and add qualified leads to the sales funnel. As an outbound representative you are responsible for prospecting, following up, and passing qualified leads to Sales for conversion into new customers. The BDR position supports the sales teams of McGuire Bearing and related companies (as needed). This role is ego-free, challenging yet rewarding, and fast-paced, requiring a highly organized individual with strong sales acumen and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable making cold outreaches and phone calls - and be able to quantify your results in a measurable way. You will use your active listening and communication skills to charter new territory, grow deep trust, cultivate strong relationships with potential customers, from the first point of contact until the hand off to Sales to pursue an active opportunity. Ultimately, you will boost our revenue goals and contribute to our long-term business growth.

This position will work closely with the Sales Team and Corporate Sales Manager - and reports to the Manager of Business Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate leads through market research, internal requests, trade shows, and other prospecting activities.
  • Make 35 calls daily to potential leads via phone and email.
  • Nurture customer relationships to build product / brand awareness.
  • Present the company to potential clients as the first point of contact.
  • Identify client pain points and suggest appropriate products/services.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
  • Set up 10-12 prospective client meetings or calls monthly for Sales.
  • Stay updated on new products/services and industry trends.
  • Participate in after-action reviews and suggest improvements to sales systems.

THIS POSITION IS A GOOD FIT IF THE FOLLOWING RESONATES WITH YOU:

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of sales experience managing pipelines and developing leads (independently or through marketing campaigns).
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and engineering products/services is preferred.
  • Experience in power transmission, tech, or SaaS industries is a plus.

  • Do not want to work in a quota/bonus-based role.
  • Get frustrated by slow response times or unresponsive contacts.
  • Prefer working independently rather than collaboratively in a new department.

Range: $55,000-$85,000 (includes monthly variable commission)
Profit share allocation
