The Account Manager Sales Representative position is located in the Lower Mainland, BC.
The Account Manager Sales Representative will participate as a member of the Service/Construction Sales team to achieve department and project objectives. The position involves working on a full-range of mechanical service and project opportunities including: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration, Plumbing, Gas, Electrical and Building Automation Controls in various markets including industrial, commercial, institutional, healthcare, laboratory and multi-unit residential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and contracts with our various service offerings to prospective customers’ and develop custom solutions adapted to our customers' needs
- Provide clients with expert guidance on our services, demonstrating a deep understanding of mechanical systems and plumbing solutions
- Manage customer accounts and visit potential and existing accounts to maintain and generate business
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with major customers and prospects and focus business development efforts of the division towards areas of greatest opportunity
- Liaise, consult and communicate with our business partners: suppliers, sub-contractors, and consultants
- Support our service team and maintain strong communications with administration staff and technicians in the field
- Arrange for the purchasing of materials as well as assist in the scheduling, planning and implementation of secured projects
- Travel to various sites or clients to undertake the above
- Be accountable for the tracking of developed and potential opportunities
- Maintain current industry knowledge and skills by staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
- Responsible for the promotion and adherence of Proton Commercial Works’ quality and safety policies

Education Requirements:
- A university degree or technical diploma in mechanical engineering or related field experience; an engineering degree would be preferred, though not required
- Qualified tradesperson with several years' experience and previous estimating experience is acceptable
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of successful design and/or sales experience in the mechanical HVAC-R and plumbing industry and/or in a technical occupation related to HVAC-R or plumbing
- Building Automation controls experience is an asset
- Previous experience within a similar service business would be considered an asset
- Previous experience managing mechanical projects would be considered an asset
Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements:
- Capable of explaining technical concepts in a way that customers can easily understand
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals, building new business, and expanding market presence
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
- Solid understanding of project management, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Self-driven with a high level of professionalism
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
- Confident public speaker
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD would be an asset
- Willing and available to travel within the Province of BC for client site visits as needed
- Clean Class 5 BC Driver's License and Driver's Abstract
- This position will be based out of a home office or other suitable remote work space provided by the incumbent
Your compensation will be based off of a competitive base salary and commission structure. The starting salary will be based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Salary is one component of Proton Commercial Works’ total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as commission, a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional development and advancement, and other HR programs.

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
