Pronghorn expedition vehicles is a custom adventure vehicle builder. Inspired by the outdoors and traveling, we set out to create a company that builds high-end overlanding vehicles.

We strive to create quality and stylish habitats to use for weekend trips and full time living alike. We take great pride and ownership in every habitat we build. We focus on listening to clients’ needs and work diligently to bring their vision into reality. Pronghorn expedition vehicles started in 2021, and we pride ourselves on being an innovative, eco-friendly, inclusive family of team players.

About the Role

Are you a passionate about adventure, the outdoors and are highly skilled sales professional who thrives on developing new relationships and deepening existing ones to deliver solutions that exceed clients’ expectations?

Pronghorn is seeking a Sales Manager to join our team. This critical new role will grow our business throughout North America by building relationships and securing new business with clients in a variety of industries who require unique accommodations solutions.

As a provider of custom adventure habitats across North America, we want to continue building trust in the overlanding world while expanding into other industries who require mobile accommodations. By capturing, pursuing, and closing key account sales opportunities, this position will make a significant impact to Pronghorn’s market position, revenues and create new opportunities.

The Sales Manager will grow our adventure overlanding brand while creating new client relations and partnerships with clients in other industries across North America.

The ideal candidate would be from the Calgary area. Travel may will be required for sales growth opportunities, meeting with prospective clients’ and potential distributer relationships. Living an existing nomadic lifestyle would be accepted and supported as it demonstrates a like-minded characteristic.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities in line with Pronghorn’s business growth strategy.
  • Lead sales activities from the point of identifying a sales lead to the point of signing a contract, including but not limited to effective client liaison, preparation and presentation of proposals and internal approvals.
  • Develop new relationships with potential clients in industries that include but not limited to outdoor gear, the adventure overlanding world, off-grid tiny homes, governments, oil & gas, and transportation industries.
  • Improve the company’s position as the leading supplier of overlanding products and builds & other markets while ensuring that a marketing strategy is developed and maintained.
  • Educate internally on market trends and competitor data to support the development of both annual Business Plan and ongoing plans to foster sustainable long-term growth.
  • Support and promote the Pronghorn Brand with weekly postings on all social media platforms.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate proven success in winning new business with 5 or more years of relevant sales experience.
  • Strong established network of relationships in the outdoors markets with an interest in other strategic target industries.
  • University degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial driven and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all phases of proposal development.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • A love for the outdoors, camping and traveling with an interest in off-grid mobile accommodations. You may already be someone who is a nomad and lives remotely.
  • Social media literacy is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable contacting and meeting with new prospective clients face to face or virtually. Strong outside sales experience required.

  • Tenacity with the ability to practice tact and diplomacy with external interested parties.
  • Self-starter with strong sales skills – ability to close deals and deliver against sales targets.
  • Ability to forecast short to long-term market potential.
  • Outstanding needs analysis and concept development skills
  • High business acumen, critical thinking, sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and ability to resolve issues.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships.

Job Details

  • Current position runs 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday.
  • The position may require some work outside of normal business hours.
  • This position reports directly to the Owners.
  • This is a commission only position. Seasoned sales persons should be comfortable and familiar with this pay structure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
