Job Description

Taiga Building Products is seeking a full-time Flooring Sales Representative to join our team. This dynamic role involves generating new business, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring maximum sales within your designated territory. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, suppliers, and our internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales targets, while driving results in the flooring industry.

OUR COMPANY:

We are an established international wholesale distributor of building products, with branches across Canada and the U.S. With a 50-year history of reliable service, we are a publicly listed company on the TSX, offering competitive compensation and a full benefits package.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience selling floor coverings to specialty flooring and/or building supply stores
  • College or university Degree/ Diploma is preferable
  • Established relationship with customer base
  • Ability to organize and plan time and service area
  • Team player as well as an individual go-getter
  • Proven record of delivering superior customer service and satisfaction
  • Ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to travel within territory
  • Results driven with a proven track record in the flooring industry
  • Must have own transportation (no transit in the area)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Generate new business in flooring sales in given territories
  • Travel alone to various customers locations and conduct business visits
  • Develop and maintain a client base
  • Attend to complaints or claims on job sites.
  • Prepare various internal paperwork, processing orders, etc.
  • Develop a close working relationship with customers and suppliers
  • Identify key areas of opportunity by reviewing customers, competitors and trends
  • Plan and implement promotional programs
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct product demonstrations
  • Ensure maximum sales revenues are obtained
  • Attend periodic meetings and trade shows, as required
  • Maintain working knowledge of all features of all products sold
  • Provide customers with relevant product information and service.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Langley, BC V4W 3V6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • B2B sales: 1 year (required)
  • Building Materials: 1 year (preferred)
  • Flooring coverings sales: 1 year (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (required)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-01-06
