The Digital Developer I is an integral member of GM Financials’ Digital Marketing/Customer Experience team producing website content and HTML emails for marketing campaigns that deliver a unified, personal experience for GM Financial customers. You'll be responsible for developing and executing digital marketing website content updates, occasional webpage redesigns and full webpage builds. This position requires a foundation of skills in HTML, CSS and some Javascript to develop web content. This role needs a goal-oriented individual who possesses exceptional attention to detail, has outstanding interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and grow. We are looking for someone who has strong time management skills, who can work well both independently and with a team of project managers, tech leads and other developers to produce high-quality functional output.
- Functional skill with HTML/CSS without reliance upon WYSIWYG editor to work with web pages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Ability to solve issues creatively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and management
- Ability to preserve integrity of the design throughout the entire development process

- Ability to understand wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups visualizing designs
- General proficiency with Photoshop and ability to resize and optimize images/graphics for web
- Understanding of website content publishing and web page development
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS, and fundamental JavaScript
- Understanding of search engine optimization, search engine marketing, user experience and analytics
- Understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability in responsive, accessible, multi-language sites and email templates
- Understanding of web content management, customer relationship management and A/B testing platforms
- Understanding of managing multi-channel campaigns and all integrations and touchpoints
- Understanding of rendering caveats across browsers, mail clients, and platforms
- Understanding of Web Content Management systems, such as Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla or enterprise CMS systems Adobe Experience Cloud suite of products; including but not limited to: Experience Manager, Audience Manager, Launch, Target, & Campaign preferred
- Associate Degree in Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
- 0-2 years of web design/development and/or web producing experience required
- 0-2 years of experience building websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript required
- 0-2 years of web publishing Content Management Systems experience required
- 0-2 years of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, XD) experience preferred
