Position Details:

Summary of Duties:
The Student Success Coordinator will be responsible for oversight of the Campus Pantry on the WSU Spokane campus. The Campus Pantry is a resource open to all WSU Spokane students and provides food and health/hygiene items to students accessing the program. The position will be responsible for staffing and supervising employees, marketing, budget tracking, food ordering, and working with community partners to ensure successful operation of the Campus Pantry.

The Student Success Coordinator will also be responsible for additional basic needs resource programming (student health fee, childcare subsidy, wellness, etc.) and collaborating with staff on accommodations, testing, and student counseling programming.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Campus Pantry & Basic Needs Resources Coordination: 45%

Campus Pantry:
  • Oversight of the Campus Pantry. Responsible for food safety protocols, creating & maintaining policies and procedures, determining hours of operation.
  • Supervise student pantry workers. Establish job performance standards, evaluate job performance, take corrective action as needed, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests.
  • Order/pick up food for pantry.
  • Establish and manage processes and programs to access campus and community resources for student basic needs, including pantry.
  • Coordinate outreach to potential donors, including use of social media. Lead marketing efforts for the campus.
  • Coordinate, process, and schedule delivery of food and basic need resources from donors.
  • Track data on usage of pantry and other resources. Provides data to supervisor.
  • Work with Director of Access & Wellness to monitor and track the budget for the Campus Pantry.

Basic Needs:
  • Point of contact for students regarding services provided through student health fee.
  • Enroll students in Teladoc Health system.
  • Market, update the website, and manage the Childcare Subsidy Program. Ensure that applications and required documentation are submitted and processes submitted applications. Lead the committee that reviews applications and makes final decisions. Notify Financial Aid of award decisions.

Accommodations Testing Coordination: 40%
  • Manage scheduling of exams for students receiving accommodations in Spokane and Yakima.
  • Proficient with use and knowledge of AIM system.
  • Work with Access Services Manager and alternative tech staff.
  • Orient students to MyAccess for scheduling exams.
  • Assist faculty with completion of Alternative Testing Agreements.
  • Coordinate test schedule with IT and Examsoft staff.
  • Ensure that all exams, additional testing materials specific to accommodations are available.
  • Schedule quiet/low-distraction testing space and private rooms.
  • Train and schedule proctors for exams.
  • Return completed exams/scratch paper/notes to faculty.
  • Monitor testing email.
  • Active member of Washington Association on Postsecondary Education and Disability (WAPED).
  • Participate in DSS system-wide phone meetings and trainings.

Access & Wellness Center Support: 10%
  • Function as reception for Access & Wellness Center.
  • Monitor general Access & Wellness and Counseling emails and phones.
  • Schedule Wellness Room.
  • Schedule appointments for Access & Wellness staff.
  • Specific to Counseling Support: Send students intake paperwork to complete, enter/update client paperwork in Titanium, send appointment reminder emails to students.
  • Process Access & Wellness staff registrations for conferences, travel, memberships.
  • Make purchases of support materials, supplies and equipment for staff.

Other: 5%
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:
  • Two years, full-time professional experience in student affairs or similar programs.
  • One of the two years should include experience maintaining and using complex record-keeping and/or scheduling systems.
  • Experience with MS Office computer software to include word processing; statistical, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment requiring high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team and across organizational lines.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a basic needs and/or food pantry environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA regulations and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, local, and institutional rules and regulations.

Monthly Salary: $3,477 to $4,632, Step A-M, Range 40 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
