SUMMARY:
The upholsterer must be able to work in a climate-controlled environment, requiring continuous standing while operating air-compressed hand tools. Sub Assemblers are required to have the flexibility to work in other areas, and overtime as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble bed mechanisms of sleeper sofas using an air-powered ratchet.
- Follow detailed instructions and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Conduct quality checks to verify that mechanisms are assembled correctly.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunction or quality issues.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance assembly skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Upholstery Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must be able to safely use air tools including staple gun, air ratchet, drill, and fiber blower
- Ability to recognize proper nuts, bolts, and screws per style.
- Prior experience in assembly work, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and maintain focus on repetitive tasks..
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet production targets.
