HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT.

  • Lead plant level APQP activities, including PPAP, CpK/PpK analysis, and other activities for a successful launch/change process.
  • Be the lead interface between customer, engineering, and manufacturing from the start of product launch through successful start of production.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Tooling run-off activities.
  • Create Control Plans, Check Sheets, Inspection Plans, and participate in Work Instruction Creation.
  • Provide guidance and input for gauge design, write gauge instructions, and lead MSA activities.
  • Lead disciplined problem solving, containment and reporting activities when manufacturing or customer problems are reported.
  • Report on monthly KPI’s associated with APQP.
  • Lead customer visits (on and off-site). Lead and/or participate in internal and 3rd party audits.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers for product application, problem resolution, warranty and PPM tracking, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in continual improvement activities directed toward process, product, and cost improvements including working with manufacturing, accounting, OEMs and Tiers to drive down debits, chargebacks, quality and warranty claims, and PPM.
  • Maintain knowledge of Internet based customer and supplier information sites and ability to understand and communicate within this medium.

YOUR KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in automotive customer and warranty claims, with a preferred emphasis on OEM and Tier portals, i.e., Ford Customer Portal and Warranty Management Systems; Tesla, Audi/VW, Stellantis and other OEM and Tier Warranty Management systems.
  • Must fully understand the process of developing and implementing PFMEAs and Control Plans to AIAG standards.
  • Must understand gauging concepts and GD&T Drawings
  • Ability to create check sheets, GP-12/Safe Launch sheets, and gauge work instructions.
  • Ability to work with equipment/tooling suppliers and communicate clearly any concerns/corrective actions/ or modification that need to be made with gauges or equipment cells/lines.
  • Understand Cpk, PpK, and MSA
  • Understand the requirements of APQ/PPAP per AIAG standards.
  • Familiar with working knowledge of customer CSR’s.
  • Must be willing to travel to support customer needs (frequency up to 50%) both domestic and international.
  • Proficient in MS tools, Mini-tab, or other related software.
  • Working knowledge of formal problem-solving methodologies: 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, Six Sigma Black Belt, Shainin Red X, etc.
  • Certification in formal problem-solving methodologies: 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, Six Sigma Black Belt, Shainin Red X, etc. preferred.
  • BS Degree in an engineering or business discipline or an associate degree with 3-5 years’ experience in automotive industry in similar or related positions is a plus.
  • Ford Portal and APQP experience preferred.
  • VDA certification preferred.
  • Experience with CAD or Solid Worx preferred.
