Job Description

The Inside Sales Representative works with customers to create new and work on existing accounts using in-depth knowledge of company products. Responsible for performing sales and service functions for targeted markets, programs, and sales as assigned.

Essential functions

  • Provide timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge requests.
  • Initiates and follows up with customers to sell products, resolve issues, answer questions and complete reports.
  • Assists customers and arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Creates and maintains computer files and suspense for follow-up action.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department supervisor as needed.
  • Prepares, processes, reviews, and monitors various documents such as shipping contracts, export paperwork, etc.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as order, quotes, proposals, or returns.
  • Record details of inquiries, comments, and complaints.
  • Provide feedback to company regarding customer concerns.
  • Ensure streamlined communication between engineering, production, customers, and sales by coordinating with all departments to drive escalation and resolution of issues with orders or processes. Document all changes in writing.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all assigned projects meet success parameters and cost targets.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or 2+ years’ experience in sales or customer service
  • Extensive record of successfully planning and delivering complex projects.
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions; demonstrated experience managing customer relationships.
  • Ability to define a project, milestones, and objectives from an initial business request.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing ERP system.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

Able to work with little to no supervision.
