What You’ll be Responsible For in this Role
- Research and Analysis: Conduct detailed market research to understand industry trends, cost structures, and competitive pricing.
- Pricing Strategy Development: Develop, evaluate, and optimize pricing strategies based on market research, competitive analysis, and cost considerations. Work closely with the sales, finance and marketing management teams to ensure pricing strategies drive revenue growth while maintaining market competitiveness and align with overall business objectives.
- Data Management: Gather and analyze large sets of data related to costs, sales, and market dynamics to inform pricing decisions. Utilize statistical methods to project the impact of pricing strategies.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform in-depth analysis of sales and pricing data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Create dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights on pricing effectiveness and sales performance.
- Price Modeling and Forecasting: Build and maintain sophisticated pricing models to forecast the impact of pricing strategies on sales volume, revenue, and profitability. Collaborate with finance to incorporate cost analysis and ensure margin objectives are met.
- Sales Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the sales process through better pricing strategies and tactics. Implement tools and processes to streamline pricing execution and enable dynamic pricing capabilities.
- CRM and Pricing Tool Management: Ensure the CRM and any pricing tools are optimized to support pricing strategies. Provide training and support to the sales team on leveraging these tools for pricing analysis and decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and product management, to ensure cohesive pricing strategies that drive growth and customer satisfaction.
- Keep abreast of changes in the market that could affect pricing strategies. (Fibre Box, RISI, etc.)
- Profitability Analysis: Evaluate the effectiveness of current pricing strategies in terms of profitability and market share; recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborative Projects: Work across departments to support product launches, promotional campaigns, and other initiatives requiring pricing inputs.
- Compliance: operate within and ensure compliance with pricing policies and guidelines, and that all strategies adhere to industry regulations and standards. Flag noncompliance issues.
- Special Projects: Engage in ad hoc projects involving pricing analysis.
- Perform other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years’ experience in analysis, finance, or a pricing-related field
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance/direction; self-starter; proactive.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex data.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other analytics tools or programming languages
- Problem-Solving: Keen problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to overcoming challenges.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in presenting data-driven insights and pricing strategies to stakeholders at all levels
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and rigorous in completing tasks.
- Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically and translate analysis into business strategy.
- A fundamental understanding of economic principles
- Knowledge of market research techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and experience with pricing optimization tools

- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other analytics tools or programming languages (Crystal reporting, Power BI)
