Tesla is seeking a skilled Construction Welder to join our dynamic Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) project team. What You’ll Do- Perform x-ray quality welding in all positions using SMAW and GTAW processes on stainless steel and carbon steel, from schedule 10 to schedule 160
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures
- Design and build basic and complex structures, supports, or frameworks, and collaborate with engineers and specialists in the design and fabrication of custom components
- Cut various alloys using oxy/acetylene torch and plasma arc processes
- Utilize handheld tools such as screw guns, drill guns, and grinders, and operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools
- Create specific weldment setups and fixtures to meet geometric requirements
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, and perform additional duties as required, including fitting, installing, bolting pipe and valves, rigging, and assisting other crafts
- 10+ years of experience as a certified welder in the petrochemical, refinery, or related field
- Ability to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 100 ft) and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Proficiency in reading and understanding Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently
- Physically capable of carrying up to 50 lbs of tools and/or materials
- Willingness to travel to other projects as needed
