Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packaging Engineer with a strong background in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), Nutraceuticals, and Pharmaceuticals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our nutraceutical products through innovative packaging solutions, contributing directly to consumer experience and satisfaction. This role requires a creative problem-solver who can balance functionality, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency while keeping sustainability in mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of new packaging solutions, ensuring protection, preservation, and presentation.
- Research and recommend materials based on product needs, cost, sustainability, and performance, working closely with suppliers for testing.
- Champion sustainable packaging solutions that align with our commitment to reducing environmental impact.
- Manage projects from concept to launch, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop testing protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and resolve any issues during production.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop innovative solutions and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure packaging meets all relevant FDA, GMP, ISO, and ASTM standards, staying updated on industry trends.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Maintain detailed records of specifications, test results, and provide regular project updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering within the CPG, Nutraceuticals, or Pharmaceuticals industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), material science, and packaging testing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of packaging requirements, regulatory standards, and shelf-life considerations.
Competencies
- Experience with sustainable packaging initiatives and life cycle assessment (LCA).
- Knowledge of supply chain processes related to packaging.
- Understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve packaging challenges effectively.
- Meticulous approach to documentation, testing, and compliance.
- Strong verbal and written skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
