is a local, family-owned produce distributor that has proudly served our Pacific Northwest retail, wholesale, and food service customers since 1977. We are now one of the largest independent produce distributors in the Northwest with distribution centers in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this position will be located in Portland, Oregon. The Customer Service Manager is a proven front-line leader who spends the majority of their time developing and supporting the Customer Service team, and interacting with sales, operations, transportation, and other departments to ensure we deliver on our commitment to our customers. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of their assigned CSRs and must utilize the tools and techniques available to motivate their team to meet or exceed their goals. In addition, the Manager must have an excellent understanding of the company’s products and services and provide new employees with in-depth training so they can better serve our consumers.


What you'll do...

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team; meeting regularly with each member to provide leadership, guidance, and feedback.
  • Direct team members in responding to incoming calls regarding order taking, customer complaints, late deliveries, same day calls and any or all issues that arise concerning the customer.
  • Partner with sales representatives regarding any changes that affect customers. This includes assisting with changes to menus, pricing, product, and delivery days.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and internal and external partners.
  • Promote an expectation of excellence and continuous improvement and hold employees accountable to established goals and objectives. Partner with Sales, Customer Experience, and Leadership to support the evolution of the Customer Service Representative role as we integrate technology and our passion for service and innovation to elevate the position to a more consultative function.

What we look for...

  • 3 to 5 years Customer Service experience required, preferably in food service or a related industry.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ college (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent amount of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated organization, leadership, supervision, training, and teambuilding skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with change management including supporting others through change.
  • Strong critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge and aptitude, including advanced experience with MS Office Word, Excel, Teams, etc. and CRMs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
