Job Description
Established freight brokerage seeking to add to a Logistics Specialist - Account Manager position. The primary responsibility after training is growing your own book of accounts through inside sales and prospecting for new business. If you are a self-motivated, sales oriented, customer service focused individual that is comfortable and effective on the phone this position will be a great fit. During a training period you will learn how we do business and help to cover shipments for our core accounts group to become comfortable with our way of working. We are looking for an aggressively motivated individual looking to grow their own book of business and have access to unlimited commission income. A candidate with the right initiative and work ethic can expect to build out their own group and have a support team dedicated to them if they desire.
Responsibilities will include:
-daily prospecting for new business through phone calls, emails, referrals and other methods
-maintaining contact with customers, carriers and shippers on a daily basis
-working with carriers to help fill their capacity needs through available customer lanes
-scheduling pickups and deliveries
-booking shipments with logistics companies, building up a carrier base to support your clients needs
-trying to achieve the best possible margin through negotiations with carriers
-working with shippers and carriers to resolve issues on behalf of core client accounts
-various other office duties
Requirements
-A highly motivated, sales and results driven individual
-A Hospitality focused and customer service oriented candidate is a must
-Must be able to handle a number of different duties simultaneously
-Can stay organized and work well under stress
-Phone experience and basic computer skills
-Ability to make intelligent decisions on the fly and under pressure
-Strong customers service and communication skills
