Ecolab is seeking an outstanding hands-on digital product owner to lead the execution of digital strategy and solution marketing focusing on our Industrial Sales & Service platform. The successful candidate will be the product owner for select digital solutions and capabilities for the Food & Beverage division and be accountable for business outcomes by driving growth and adoption of sales and service tools while delivering a positive user experience.
The Digital Product Owner will work closely with divisional stakeholders, development, marketing, sales, and business readiness teams to serve the digital solution needs of our internal and/or external customers. This role is responsible for all aspects and process utilized in the design, build-out, delivery, adoption and go-to-market of our sale & service digital tools. Digital solutions vision, strategic roadmap, business model, product ownership, digital marketing, customer and sales & service channel adoption will be key success factors for the candidate.
This position will be part of the Ecolab Digital Organization for the Industrial Sector and report to Director of Digital operations – Food & Beverage.
This position will be based in our St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL office as a hybrid role
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the primary stakeholder for the CRM system and its vision, product roadmap and backlog of features for the Food & beverage business and F&B United
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., leadership, sales, field, marketing, finance and regions) to understand their needs and priorities for Sales & Service tools
- Prioritize and manage the CRM system's features and functionality based on business value and user needs
- Communicate the product strategy and progress to stakeholders and business leadership
- Ensure the CRM system is delivering value and meeting Food & Beverage objectives, including enabling workflows that are efficient for users, enabling collaboration and helping to drive our top line revenue and service goals
- Establish appropriate governance and quality management steps that provide a high level of data quality, including data integration and automation where appropriate
- Partner with the Industrial Sales and Service platform team and feed digital product needs and prioritize business requirements
- Define the strategic vision and roadmap of digital sales & service offerings, based on Voice of Business, Voice of Customer and competitive intelligence. Leverage cross functional groups to couple knowledge of customer needs with existing and future technology capabilities.
- Formulate the business value and partner with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize high level business requirements and features to deliver to field and sales teams, through the analysis of opportunity, risk and dependency.
- Partner in development of business processes and solutions to meet new business needs. Oversight and leadership of the end-to-end digital customer experience and make business decision to maximize customer value and business ROI.
- Assist team in management of project expectation, deadlines and schedules with various stakeholders across multiple functions
- Partner with other Sales and Service product managers to drive Ecolab leverage, synergies, and efficiencies across Industrial businesses
- Lead business planning and own product value realization to ensure go-to-market readiness for digital products and services.
- Supports change leadership, communications and training to ensure that internal and external customers embrace the digital offerings.
- Track and report on metrics and take corrective action working with leads in Sales and marketing as required.
- Participate in Scrum meetings, product sprints, PI planning and creating stories, grooming them and prioritizing the backlog with other Product Owners from other divisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of professional experience
- 5 years of work experience as a product owner, product manager or a business analyst in a CRM environment
- Experience and success in executing and innovating in the CRM, sales and service space with cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams across matrix organizations
- Familiarity with Agile and Lean processes and techniques to test, learn and build solutions that deliver on sales and service value
- Experience developing budgets and forecasts to support business needs, and OKR’s (objectives and key results).
- Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, both within and outside the business.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Sales or service experience in the Industrial or Food & Beverage business
- Excellent collaboration skills - leading execution across teams, influencing across organizations, experience of working across levels from business leaders and developers.
- Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with business leaders and develop strong credibility. Experience in interfacing with international audiences and cross-office teams preferred
- Has in depth knowledge and ability to influence business strategy.
- Strong business acumen, can quickly get the essence of the business and grasp the connectivity among technology, business and customer value
- Experience strategizing with customers on product/technical enhancements
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/initiatives
