Cape Fear Solar is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Solar Quality Assurance Specialist will oversee all existing systems within Cape Fear Solar Systems installed and adopted customer base. They will review and ensure all are operating properly, assist with preventative maintenance, remote diagnostics, warranty replacement requests, and production analysis. They will also review customer service inquiries, helping to organize and direct them through the proper channels
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
● Understand and be comfortable navigating each manufacturer’s monitoring platform
● Utilize energy modeling software to predict system performance and energy savings for clients
● Effectively communicate technical concepts and system designs to customers, clearly and professionally addressing any questions or concerns
● Develop relationships with manufacturer technical support representatives to streamline warranty replacements and remote troubleshooting
● Stay up-to-date with the industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the continuously changing solar energy market
● Ensure systems are operating properly and identify when one needs service, creating a service ticket and working with service department to schedule the most efficient fix possible by gathering remote information ahead of time
● Help to evaluate and answer customer questions of system production, how to read their bill with solar, provide documentation showing actual production versus the modeled production
● Diagnose and resolve issues with solar energy systems, including electrical components, inverters, and monitoring systems
● Maintain accurate records of service activities, including inspections, repairs, and customer interactions
● Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during installation and maintenance activities
● All other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
● Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar tools
● Excellent verbal and written skills
● Ability to maintain confidential information
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
● Experience with solar energy systems and technologies preferred
● Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in the solar sector
● PMP certification or similar project management credentials preferred
● Certification as a Solar PV Installer or Designer (e.g., NABCEP certification) preferred
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to travel as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
