BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BUILDING DRAINAGE POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Manager for ACO Building Drainage is a key driver of new business and sales growth within a specific territory or region. This role focuses on identifying and cultivating new project opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and converting leads into sales. The BDM will proactively engage with mechanical and plumbing engineers, project owners, contractors, and other decision-makers to position ACO Building Drainage as the preferred solution.

With a strong emphasis on business development, this role requires creating and implementing a strategic sales approach, supporting internal and external customers, and establishing a repetitive selling strategy to secure long-term growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional to expand ACO's presence and impact in the building drainage market

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BUILDING DRAINAGE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Stakeholder Development:
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of project opportunities in the mechanical, plumbing engineering, and contractor segments
  • Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers, contractors, and other key decision-makers to influence project specifications and promote ACO Building Drainage product.
Sales Activities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet or exceed sales targets in a defined territory or region.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers, contractors, and other key decision-makers to influence project specifications and promote ACO Building Drainage products.
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings to identify project opportunities and support product implementation.
  • Identify competitor specifications and work to switch to ACO products where applicable.
  • Develop and implement repeatable selling strategies to build sustained client relationships and grow market share.
  • Assist the Architects/Engineers (A&E) Community to specify ACO

Project Pipeline and Market Development:

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of project opportunities within the mechanical and plumbing engineering segments.
  • Identify and pursue leads, switching competitor specifications to ACO products when possible.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to architects, engineers, and contractors to specify and install ACO products.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Sales Management System (SMS), including lead tracking, project updates, and follow-up activities.
  • Communicate project details, critical timelines, and expectations clearly with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Represent ACO at trade shows, industry events, and client presentations as needed

Research and Strategy:

  • Leverage tools like Google, CMD, Reed, and LinkedIn to uncover project leads and maximize potential opportunities

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BUILDING DRAINAGE EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction, architectural, science or other related discipline or Associate degree and related experience AND/OR one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • A minimum of one-year previous inside sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in engineering, construction, and architecture is preferred.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BUILDING DRAINAGE OTHER SKILLS
:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the level of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as simple construction drawings, blueprints, or requests for proposals. Develop the ability to write professional correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should possess the ability to compute percentages, discounts & margins.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Access, Excel, databases, and file management. Must be able to create documents and transfer files.
  • Key boarding skills of 35 wpm, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft professional programs, Excel, Word, Power Point & Others
  • Proficient use of video conferencing equipment
  • Excellent punctuation, grammar, and spelling
  • Professional phone manners

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BUILDING DRAINAGE
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to travel daily, fly, and spend most of the day in a vehicle
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend daily.
  • Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations
  • Ability to operate a computer for 1-2 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift product up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
