Flood and Peterson is hiring for an Account Manager on our Diversified Large Commercial team!

This position provides support and service for our clients in a variety of industries - manufacturing, public entities, non-profits, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow your career in the insurance industry!

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide ongoing support and service to clients, assisting with existing clients and new business prospects by performing a variety of tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned

  • Serve as the internal contact for clients on insurance questions and policy changes
  • Perform day-to-day client servicing tasks with appropriate assistance from Director of Client Services
  • Responsible for billing premiums on all assigned accounts
  • Responsible for integrity of policy data and documentation in Agency Management Systems
  • Manage account renewals under supervision Account Executive including but not limited to the following:
  • Prepare renewal exposure information documents/renewal review
  • Complete applications, including specialty and supplemental applications, as required
  • Obtain preliminary renewal indications from underwriters
  • Follow-up with renewal underwriters for quotes
  • Preparation of proposals
  • Participate in new and renewal business presentations with Risk Advisors
  • Issue binding instructions to successful carriers
  • Issue binders, invoices
  • Complete surplus lines due diligence & affidavits, when applicable
  • Responsible for final policy check for new and renewal business as negotiated at binding
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to Associate Account Manager or Account Assistant
  • Work with Accounting and Account Assistants to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Provide assistance to Account Assistants on audits
  • Perform tasks assigned in client service plans
  • Perform loss ratio, analytics and other account/risk assessments as needed
  • Responsible for collection of premium on all assigned accounts
  • Comply with and follow company workflow procedures and guidelines
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and insurance company underwriters
  • Provide outstanding customer service and teamwork and seek to improve whenever possible

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and collaborate with team members when appropriate. Promptly inform supervisor of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS INFORMATION

In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program.

Starting pay for this non-exempt position is $31.00 - 35.00 / hour. Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

Education and Work Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills This position requires use of the following software or applications: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Internet, Email, Database, Order Processing, Presentations and Accounting

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (if applicable)

  • Must have industry designation of CISR or equivalent and a willingness to pursue additional designations as needed (CIC, CRM, AAI, ARM, CPCU etc.)
  • Possess and maintain a Colorado Property & Casualty Producer License
  • Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR

WORK ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms under 1/3 of the time
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, sit over 2/3 of the time
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. less than 1/3 of the time
  • Work environment while in the office is moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, moderate traffic)
