Role Overview
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the Territory Sales Representative is responsible for the initiation, development and growth of our commercial client base in Southern Alberta (Calgary, Lethbridge, Brooks, and Medicine Hat.).
The Territory Sales Representative will market and sell Superior Propane’s product and services to new and existing clients by successfully achieving predefined sales goals and objectives in the Prairie Region.
You will bring a proven track record in consultative selling and strong sales leadership, with a clearly defined process from lead generation through to revenue realization.

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership to your business partners by growing the commercial business portfolio. (This portfolio consists of Oilfield, Commercial, Agriculture, Forklift, and Construction Clients.)
- Collaborate with your business partners (Market Manager, Service Coordinator, Delivery Coordinator) to develop, recommend, and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Prospect, researches, and identifies new business opportunities and works the sales plan to create awareness, discover client needs, and deliver product and service solutions.
- Initiates and leads the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and acts as the client’s key contact and resource. Build strong business relationships with prospective clients and manage a sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
- Prepares and confidently presents sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers. Influences, negotiates and closes the sale with the best interest of the company and the client in mind.
- Collaborate with and engage your teammates and business partners to ensure the needs of the client will be met.
- Communicates regularly and prepares reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements. Intimately knows customer base and area activity and utilizes information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
- Resolves any issues as they arise and involves subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
- Provides initial account maintenance and customer service to ensure customer needs are met.
- Promotes and represent Superior Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Indigenous Relations Experience/Background
- Oil and Gas Experience/Background
- Construction Experience/Background
- Two (2) to three (3) years sales experience
- Exceptional customer service skills and relationship management skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Business acumen, financial and analytical skills
- Post-Secondary education or professional certification or equivalent courses
- Strong leadership skills
- Superior organization and objective management skills
- Problem solving skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Salesforce an asset)
- Knowledge of the propane industry
- Valid Driver’s License & Safe to use Vehicle
